Season 5, Episode 17 - My Chopped Liver April 4, 2006 Turk gets to perform a liver transplant on two brothers, Frank (Jeffrey Stubblefield) and Marc (Paul Hipp). Frank has hepatitis, so his brother Marc is donating part of his liver so his brother's health can improve. Frank recovers well from the surgery, but Marc is in some serious pain. Things go from bad to worse when Marc starts bleeding out. He recovers. Instead of having Turk tell his brother what happened, Marc decides to keep the news to himself. Marc wouldn't want him knowing that he was in serious pain or trouble because of the transplant. Jordan arranges a couples date with Cox, Elliot and Keith. Cox is of course bored to tears and Keith doesn't know what to do with himself. Jordan and Elliot hang out like girlfriends. Keith and Cox find common ground when Keith reveals that he's a Detroit Red Wings fan, which is Cox's favorite sports team. When Keith tells the other interns that Cox is much nicer when you get him to talk about the Red Wings, Cox is suddenly mister popularity. He quickly reverts back to his old self when the interns start getting close. Jordan suggests another night out together. This time, Keith and Cox end up wearing the same pants/shirt outfit. When Jordan comments that it was nice going out as a couple because they haven't done it since Jack was born, Cox realizes how important it is to her and goes out the second time. Dr. Kelso confides to Carla that his beloved dog Baxter has passed away. He wants her to shield him from anyone coming to see him. Elliot stops by to ask Kelso about buying a new label maker. He tells Carla to say "no," but she tells Elliot "yes." Since Kelso never says yes to anything, it opens the floodgates to everyone coming to him for something. Carla has the unenviable task of now saying no to people. Everyone except Elliot turns against her. Janitor even has them do the Evil Eye to her. She appeases everyone by buying them a round of drinks at the bar. When Kelso explains to her that Baxter was a true friend to him, Carla realizes that Kelso just needed someone to confide in. |
