Season 4, Episode 1 - My Old Friend's New Friend
August 31, 2004

J.D. gets his first introduction to the new psychiatrist, Dr. Molly Clock (Heather Graham) while she is discussing a patient's meds with a nurse. When she asks his name he tells her it's Johnny instead of J.D. Since she commits names of people she meets to her memory immediately, Johnny sticks. Molly's initial meeting with Elliot is awkward at first, but they soon find that they have a lot in common. When she encounters Dr. Cox, he realizes he may have met his match in the quick wit department.

Meanwhile, J.D. is excited because it's his last week as a resident before he becomes a full-fledged doctor. What he wants most is Dr. Cox to give him his seal of approval, and a big hug. Later, Dr. Cox tells him that he will continue to teach and guide him even when he is officially a doctor.

A hug is definitely not something J.D. will be receiving from Elliot because their friendship is still shaky after he told her that he didn't love her. And since he still lives with Turk and Carla, Elliot is feeling left out.

Turk and Carla return to work from their honeymoon. Almost immediately, Carla makes some changes. Instead of ice cream, Turk is only allowed to eat Rice Dream in the new, uncomfortable chairs Carla bought. When Turk's car, Malik, blows up, she lets him make the decision on what to buy. She suggests that he buys a used Mini-Cooper. But instead of buying a car, Turk buys three Vespa's for himself, Carla and J.D. Even when he realizes how impractical they are, Turk refuses to return them until Carla can't take it anymore and blows up at him. They both learn that they will have to do a lot of compromising if they are to have a happy marriage.
